Remember the Lucky to be a Family project is due Thursday!
(March 12th) I am working hard on mine and can't wait to see the students hard work!!! I loved the wonderful Valentine's Boxes! It's time to be creative again!!! Due March 12, 2015. Or before!I have a little project for you to do with your student at home. This is a time for you and your student to talk about how great it is to be a family. Let your student be as creative as they want. I will provide the green shamrock to get you started. Feel free to use it or make your own shamrock together. I will be putting these around the classroom and on our classroom door. On March 17th (St. Patrick's Day) the students will be able to share their projects with the whole class. Check below for some examples. Also -- YES -- Miss Ray will be making her own shamrock to share! I'm very excited to get creative with my shamrock :) Have fun with this! It's almost Valentine's Day! SMALENTINE'S ARE BACK AT KENNESAW ELEMENTARY SCHOOL Relay for Life Valentine Fundraiser
Do you have a special someone that you would like to celebrate this Valentine’s Day? We have the perfect way to show them that you care. The Kennesaw Elementary Relay for Life team will be selling Smalentines for $1. They are smelly pencils that come in their own carrying case and there are varieties to choose from. Please come to the any hallway before 7:50 to purchase your Smalentine. These are so awesome, that you may want to even buy some for yourself. J All proceeds will benefit the American Cancer Society. Roses are red. Violets are blue. I want to buy a Smalentine just for you! JACKIE JERSEY'SThis week your student is finishing their Jackie Jersey's. On Friday, we will wear them around school to show off what we have learned about Jackie Robinson! SOMEONE CALL THE DOCTOR!This week your student will perform Word Surgery in class! Pictures coming soon...Remember to bring in your box tops! The class in each grade with the most box tops will win a cookie decorating party and an art pack! Help our class out by bringing in any box tops you may have at home. We will be collecting them until Feb. 20th.
WHAT A GREAT DAY!I hope your student came home and told you something about the field trip! It was a great day and the kids loved all the activities. We had wonderful weather - besides the chilly side of things - I'm just glad we did not experience any rain! I think that was the best field trip I have ever been apart of. Our class was super and even got a compliment from our Firefighter. Go us! I'm very happy to be working with such a wonderful group of kids. I go to work everyday with a smile on my face!
Would you rather...The student's played 'Would you rather...' in class on Friday. They read their card to a friend and their friend would respond in a complete sentence with at least one reason why. The students loved walking around the room and asking silly questions. This activity helped the students think on the spot with their own opinions. They had to decide what they would rather and then they had to explain why giving a reason.
The Blurt ChartSome of you may have heard your student say something about the Blurt Chart already. Most of the students were very excited when I brought this into our room. YAY!
I'm excited for this new board. And I hope your student loves it too!
We will be adding to it as we learn the material. My hope is for the students to take more pride in the board when they know they have helped me make it! |
