WHAT A GREAT DAY!I hope your student came home and told you something about the field trip! It was a great day and the kids loved all the activities. We had wonderful weather - besides the chilly side of things - I'm just glad we did not experience any rain! I think that was the best field trip I have ever been apart of. Our class was super and even got a compliment from our Firefighter. Go us! I'm very happy to be working with such a wonderful group of kids. I go to work everyday with a smile on my face!
Would you rather...The student's played 'Would you rather...' in class on Friday. They read their card to a friend and their friend would respond in a complete sentence with at least one reason why. The students loved walking around the room and asking silly questions. This activity helped the students think on the spot with their own opinions. They had to decide what they would rather and then they had to explain why giving a reason.
The Blurt ChartSome of you may have heard your student say something about the Blurt Chart already. Most of the students were very excited when I brought this into our room. YAY!
I'm excited for this new board. And I hope your student loves it too!
We will be adding to it as we learn the material. My hope is for the students to take more pride in the board when they know they have helped me make it! This is going to be a busy week in our classroom!
This week:: Social Studies: Martin Luther King Jr. Writing: Opinion writing Math: Comparing Three Digit Numbers Fire Safety Lesson - Wednesday SLOs Testing - Wednesday and Thursday Reminders:
Important Notes:: NO HOMEWORK THIS WEEK - With the firefighters visiting and the SLOs testing I want the students to rest this week and we will start back up with homework next week. I am combining this week and next weeks spelling words. That means no spelling test this week. It will be NEXT Friday. Students will get their words tomorrow in class and they will have two weeks to study the words. Welcome back to school! I've certainly missed all my students. This break I was able to relax a little and spend time with some family. And I've also been busy planning and getting this website up and running. I hope you all rested up and relaxed with some family and friends, too. I can't wait to dig into this quarter. Here is a sneak peak to what we are going to be studying this week:: Social Studies: Martin Luther King Jr. Writing: Informational/Opinion writing Math: Partitioning Important Notes:: Homework will be sent out on Tuesday and will be collected on Thursday. Spelling test will be on Friday. Please remember to sign and return your student's form for the Safety Village Field Trip. Thank you,
